This week, this week, we’re talking about professional email. Professional email, it’s one of those things, it’s just like, it blows my mind that people don’t have their their email on the website tied to the same as their domain, you know, and go to websites all the time, my professional business.com, but yet you go to the contact form, you hit the email link, and it’s my professional business@gmail.com. And it’s it blows me away, you know it, I don’t understand it, I can’t understand the logic behind not having an email set up to your own account, especially because of how easy it is, you know, there’s a route that I do not, do not suggest, and that’s having email hosted through the same place that you host your website.
Keegan 1:43
Reason for that is a lot of times clients need to get in touch with you, when their website goes down. And when your website goes down. And they try and email you if your email is tied to the same thing as your as your website, they’re not going to get you. So then they’re going to be blown up your phone. And it’s just a big old mess. And not to mention, having your business name at Gmail may be great for the backend, right? Absolutely set up your business at Gmail. So that you can sign up for accounts for anything Google Analytics, different things along those lines, but I wouldn’t use it as your client facing or your customer facing email.
Keegan 2:19
For that, you know, if you don’t have five or $6 a month to do G Suite, highly recommend G Suite. But if you don’t, you can go the route. If you’re using a cPanel hosting, you can go the route of setting up an email account there. You know, for me, I use managed hosting and emails in some cases are part of it in some cases are not with my hosting, it’s not, they don’t want to be email host, nor should they want to be I’m happy with it because they want to be the absolute best WordPress hosting they can possibly be. That’s what I get value from, which is why I picked them and their customer service is amazing.
Keegan 2:56
You already know who it is I talk about them all the time here it’s fly will actually drop a link in the show notes below in case you want to check them out and learn a little bit about flywheel. They’re second to none when it comes to support. And I just think their platform is phenomenal. But you know, going back to it if you want to have a professional looking email, which you absolutely should. G Suite is an amazing option. Right? It’s professional Google, you’ve got Gmail, you’ve got Google Docs, Google Sheets, the presentation or PowerPoint version for Google, I can’t remember what it’s called.
Keegan 3:29
But you’ve also got Google Drive, you can share files and create folders inside of an account for your clients so that they can drop images and different things back and forth. He can work on documents together, build Sitemaps together, there’s so many benefits to spending $6 a month to have your own email account at your business comm you tie in the domain, everything is just set, you use the G Suite interface or the Gmail interface. You’ve got Google calendars for your business, it’s just simple. And it looks absolutely professional. So you know, that’s that’s really I can talk about this more, but it would really just be repeating what we’ve already said.
Keegan 4:09
The key here is to absolutely look like a pro. And in the next episode of this podcast, we’re gonna we’re gonna shell out a ton of reasons, a ton of things you can do to look like a digital professional. Before here talking about email, just whatever you do, I’m pleading I’m begging you go out, get a G Suite account sign up, put a card on file, pay $6 a month, attach it to your domain, and you are going to look like a true pro when it comes to email back and forth. It looks that next level up so go ahead and do it. We’ll link to G Suite below and I’ll even link up a video from some friends over on YouTube about how to set up a G Suite account with your domain so I hope that this brings you a lot of value.
Keegan 4:57
