What’s up Divi Addicts? Welcome to episode number 122. Mind blowing right? You know in the last episode we asked you what was next and we were putting the power right in your hands. We’re going to talk a little bit more that as soon as we jump into the episode Welcome to the Divi addicts podcast, a podcast by Keegan Lanier Media, where we deliver news tips tricks on web design to education hungry entrepreneurs who are looking to change their life by starting full fledged business with web design.
What’s going on everybody? Welcome back to the podcast. Again, you know, we talked about it in the intro, this episode is just gonna be me speaking, we’re not talking Divi, we’re not talking about really any tips that’s going to be for next week’s episode, we’re gonna talk about kind of where we are what’s going on in life and the mental state right now. So, you know, I think it’s really important, especially whenever you, you go through years, like 2020, to really stop take stock of where you are, what’s important in life, what your focus is, should be, and really reassess where you are and what you want to do.
And that’s exactly why last week’s episode, I raised the question, you don’t want to give you guys the chance to, to go to the website to to really say your piece? Do you want the podcast to continue? Would you prefer watching videos over on YouTube? Or do you not even care and I knew that would obviously that was one of those I just kind of toss in there, if you’re listening to this, you probably care at least a little bit about the podcast. And we have consistently very strong numbers, I mean, very, very, very consistent listeners and downloads every single week on the podcast, you know, and for quite a while the podcast has not really been growing. And that’s not a big deal to me, you know, it’s definitely not about the exposure about the numbers it never has been. It’s always been about sharing information and helping people who may be looking for a side hustle or just up upgrading their level leveling up, whatever you want to call it with their skills, as far as WordPress and business and Divi.
To be very, very honest with you. The the turnout in the poll was probably about 2% of the total listeners, you know, average listeners that we have every single week, to the to the people who actually went and filled out the poll and gave their opinion, two percents not super strong, which makes me you know, makes me kind of question my delivery or the content that I’m putting out here on the podcast. Because if it was something that was truly bringing value, I think that there would be a much bigger turnout. And you know really what I’ve what I wanted to say in this episode, you can see it by the title is, is Thank you 122 episodes over two years delivering the Divi addicts podcast.
To me that’s that’s such a massive, massive accomplishment. And I hope that there’s this backlog of content that’s brought you value helps you answer a question, jump over a hurdle, whatever that case may be. And I don’t want you to take this as the Divi addicts podcast is going away because it isn’t the the URL is going to live the library is going to live forever. And what this really means is, is I’m taking stock of kind of the the important things the the impactful things, and the podcast being released every single week is really it takes a lot of time it takes a whole ton of effort. And there’s planning that goes into it. You know, there’s the audio equipment that is not free. There’s there’s a lot of different things that go into to making this. And I think I’m going to pivot a little bit with the podcast, it’s been weekly. You know, it’s been weekly and tried to keep them under 10 minutes for a very long time.
And the way we’re going to go so we’ll have one more weekly episode next week. We’re going to end the season right we’re going to talk through the current state of Divi where WordPress is at where I think it’s going and and some of the the new features that have come out that we’ve briefly touched on in a few episodes. But you know kind of the state of Divi As it stands, which will be October the 20th will be the publish date. So next, this coming Tuesday or a week from the day we released this episode. So October 20 2020 Talk about the current state. And what’s going to happen after that is I’m really going to go back and take stock, you know, in a major, major way, I’m going to take a few weeks off. And what’s probably going to happen where my gut is telling me I’m going to go right now is probably releasing the podcast twice a month, rather than four times a month.
So I’ll cut the amount of episodes in half, which will free up a lot more creative juices to edit and record videos for the YouTube channel, while still being able to, to give to the podcast that I’ve, I’ve loved doing for the for the last two years. And what may even happen is that in doing the videos over on YouTube, what I might do is take the audio from those podcasts, I mean, from those videos, and drop them here on the podcast. So that’s always something that could happen. If you’re interested or have any thoughts, feel free to reach out to us on Twitter, let’s let’s really talk about this because if this is, if you come to the podcast every single week, the last thing I want to do is not deliver. So but it’s very important for me to really put my efforts in the things that I believe will drive the business.
Especially in this time, I think you can probably understand where I’m coming from COVID has been an interesting year 2020 has been an interesting year due to COVID. And however you want to say that, and I’m trying to figure out the things that that are going to continue to put food on my family’s table and to to really drive the creative juices as well, looking a lot at the rest of this year into personal growth. And when that should hopefully come some professional growth. But to do that, I’ve got to really declutter, I’ve got to declutter the digital life, I’ve got to declutter my physical life, and I’ve got to prioritize the things that I’m spending my time on. And I would highly recommend that for any of you out there. You know, if you want to do more in life, get disciplined, if you want to grow, you’ve got to learn.
So that’s what this is, this process has been about and next week, you know, we’re going to come back in here, we’re going to finish this thing strong, we’re going to go 100% on Divi, these two episodes have been a lot of thought process and a lot of planning kind of out here in front of you, because I do this because I know there are people out there who listen to it and get some, you know, get some nuggets of wisdom. And hopefully it can have an impact on on your life and on your business. And I keep doing this because I believe that I do, I believe that this podcast does.
So again, we’ll finish it off strong. And we’ll go to probably I think I’m going to plan to go to every other week releasing a new episode of the podcast, that’ll give me more time to to do research to really think through this to test more things and client sites and and to do more tutorials and hopefully offer up some some really good layouts and and free things over over on the YouTube channel that I think will benefit any Divi build a lot. So you know, I appreciate this, this episode is, is not, there’s no there’s gonna be no sponsored segment, there’s this is just me off the cuff. One thing I will throw out there, though, is don’t feel like this is the end, it’s absolutely not the end, I just have been working for the last, you know, probably year and a half, breaking these episodes down in the 1515 episode blocks that I was grouping in the seasons.
And next week’s episode is the end of what would be season eight. So you know, we’ll continue to move forward, we’ll continue to post episodes after that. And I think the fact that even a 2% is a good conversion rate in some places. So 2%, I’d be happy with getting that back out of my savings account or stock stocks and things like that. So I’ll take 2% and more. So I appreciate the two of you, the 2% of you, who replied, I really truly do appreciate that. And if if you’re looking to take the next step, and you’ve enjoyed the content we’ve done here, and if you’re even subscribed to the YouTube channel, you like the way that I teach and coach, the Academy, I will link it up in the in the show notes below. There’s a Divi Foundation course. And my goal with with reducing the number of podcasts is hopefully to be able to put out another course. And to go way more in depth with Divi specifics, you know, on using modules, global styles, how to build a site efficiently and effectively.
How to Build it to where you don’t have to go into every single page trying to change individual things, you know, and just really taking it to the next level. So next week, you’re right back here on the 20th. We’re going to talk about the current state of things. And yeah, we’ll be back in seven days from today with another episode The Divi addicts podcast. And then after that we will shift into every other week and then reassess as things go on. This is a living, breathing thing. I just hope that you’ll come along for the ride and have an amazing day. Stay safe out there, treat the people next to you with kindness. And let’s, let’s do our part two to make this world a whole hell of a lot better. Appreciate you have an amazing week.
