So here we are. This is the last episode season four of the Divi Addicts podcast where today we’re talking about a slider that really is a game changer.
Keegan 0:25
All right, let’s get going. Today we’re talking about smart slider three, specifically the pro plugin. Now, just to get going, I do want to mention that there is a free version of smart slider three. And in the free version, it’s in the WordPress repository, it’s easy to use. And for majority of you, the free version is going to work just fine. And this is the reason that I picked this one over a lot of others is that having a free version is just a low barrier to entry. And I think it’s a it’s a great smart way to do things. Hey, buddy, got my cat here with me meow and making noise. He’s helping me record this right now. But the free version has tons of things for with sliders. It’s optimized for SEO, there’s very control elements. So you can use arrows or bullets or thumbnails or a text bar. It’s got smart image cropping, you can loop in YouTube and Vimeo slides has some dynamic slides with external sources. So you can add in WordPress posts images from a folder, ton of different things on the free version.
Keegan 1:34
But then there’s also the pro version. And the pro version takes things to a whole nother level. I mean, there’s, you’re gonna have tons of new slider slider modules, different types, some extra effects, extra services as well. So I mean, you’re gonna get individual support. There’s tons of new animations, you have the extra slider types that come with the Pro. So there’s carousel versions, there’s some blocks, you can do a full page slider that takes up everything. There’s showcase mode, there’s so many different things. You’ve got template and slide library. So there’s tons of templates that you can check out at smart slider three comm slash pro dash features. There’s a slider templates that you can see them in action.
Keegan 2:23
Absolutely beautiful. You’ve got the dynamic content generator. So you can add slides from it says WordPress, Joomla, flicker, Instagram, YouTube virtuemart WooCommerce. And it even has 32 more options to generate that dynamic content. It’s pretty awesome. Then there’s the Ken Burns effects. So that’s pretty freakin cool. You’ve got background animations. So it says that there 61 brand new background animations. That’s friggin Cool, right, you can do a background video as well. So you can give your slides life by looping in a YouTube video. That just looks cool. There’s so many things that you get with this, as well as lifetime automatic updates, you get the personal support I mentioned before, there’s image optimization, lightbox options, different triggers and actions. There’s device specific options. So between mobile, tablet and desktop, you can animate text, we mentioned already that it’s SEO friendly.
Keegan 3:31
There’s some new controls we mentioned, you can tweak the arrows, bullets thumbnails, and there’s customization options on this dynamic height. No matter what the device is. There’s experts settings where you can unlock a ton of other additional features. But basically, this gives you an unbelievably flexible option. If you have someone who needs or a project or your website in general that just needs a beautiful slider option that’s easy to manage. It has a phenomenal back end dashboard. And then you just use the shortcode drop it into your builder. So if you’re using Divi, you just throw in a code module or a text module and put in the shortcode. And you’re good to go. I mean, it’s it’s super easy, right? I mean, hard to beat it. And if you decide to go with the pro version, if you’re a an agency, and you needed unlimited sites forever, you can buy smart slider pro for $250. It’s a one time payment with unlimited lifetime update and support with all the pro features.
Keegan 4:36
You can do a business license that will go up to 10 sites for $150 saying you get all the pro features the one time payment, or you can buy it for a single domain. The single domains are $35 per site. And that’s the one time fee lifetime updates all the pro features. It’s it’s a no brainer and you can go to their site. Compare the free version to the The Pro versions, and you can just pick which one is right for you. It’s, it’s a phenomenal plugin. It’s one of those that expands on some of the basics on a lot of themes and a lot of visual builders.
Keegan 5:13
And it’s brought, you know, I used it on a recent on a recent client site, it was cloud nine.co, you can check that out on Keegan Lanier media’s go to Keegan Lanier media.com and go to our client portfolio. And you can see the slider in action on some of their services pages. But I’m interested in seeing how you actually use this. And if you’re a fan of smart slider three, it goes into all of our sites, and really can’t see myself using using anything else on any website that requires that kind of functionality. So that’s really it for running through the features of smart slider Pro. And that’s all we’ve got to talk about as far as the integrations and how you can use it in your site.
Keegan 6:04
So this is the long outro we’re finished with episode number six. And that wraps up season four of the Divi addicts podcast, we cannot say thank you enough for for sticking around for being here through this entire season. And we wanted to save this part for now. We’re still at a toss up, kind of enjoyed the seasons, it’s easy to group these things together, we were able to organize the episodes into a bigger bucket.
