So you know how much we love Divi. But in this episode I’m sharing the biggest downfall of using Divi ever.
So life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. In fact, sometimes it could just be a giant pain in the, you know what I’m talking about. So as much as we love Divi it doesn’t come without a turtles. The single biggest downfall of using Divi is that they update it so often. None of this might not sound like a bad thing. But if you go back to our previous episode where we talk about WordPress maintenance plans, you’ll start to put these things together.
Divi updates have in the past and likely in the future, we’ll just flat out break your website. This is a downfall of all themes if I’m 100% fair, but those with active development suffer from this even more. Divi is a widely used theme that has to consider compatibility with a lot of bigger WordPress plugins. So if you are like a lot of people out there, you likely have used some more specialized plugins that aren’t what we would consider a major plugin. And these can sometimes cause compatibility issues that may not break your website, but can cause like the visual builder to not open or header spacing to get really wonky, it may cause the sizing on modules to go absolutely nuts.
Divi updates can be unpredictable. But I’ve invested in Divi, and I trust the team behind the product with my business. I say all of this to return to the fact that nothing is ever perfect. Divi is a premium product created by an A plus team. And even they make mistakes. We all do. And we always will. It’s not about making the mistakes, but it’s about how you recover. I love Elegant Themes, and I am experienced enough to know that these issues could be equal or worse using any other platform out there. So this is why I stick with the best in class Visual Builder. This is why I just will not leave Divi.
So I asked for this weekly, but this week is extra special to me. I want you to go out there and find the Keegan Lanier media account on whichever social platform you use and DM me your favorite and your least favorite things about building building websites with Divi. I’ll feature those in an upcoming podcast. So absolutely bring it.
Alright, so shifting gears from the topic of this week, this week’s resources straight from Elegant Themes. It’s another thing I love about them. And it’s the Divi library, this thing is absolutely out of control. There’s over 150 layout packs as of this recording, so you can go explore professional, absolutely professionally designed pro layouts and find over 150 reasons to pick up Divi. And if you’re interested in picking up Divi we will have a link in the show notes as always.
And the closest whole thing out. If you love what we’re doing head on over to the brand new Keegan Lanier media.com. We talked about it every single week. But we’ve streamlined our menus pages and added the ability to purchase our individual layouts in addition to the Divi Builder layout memberships, we think they’re worth it. We’re continuing to grow, we’re continuing to add layouts to these. In fact, over the last two weeks, we’ve added another three layouts to it with a coming soon page and a brand new global header and footer layout that are meant to mimic apple.com so take a look. Let us know if you’d love to see anything specific added into the layout options. We’re always listening and you can chat with us anywhere in any social platform in the DMS. Let us know hit us up. Have an amazing day. We’ll see you next week in another episode of the Divi addicts podcast.
