Hey, what’s going on? Welcome to the first episode of Divi Addicts. We are super amped to be here today and talk about our love for Divi and the greater WordPress community. So thank you again for being here. And today we’re going to explain exactly what Divi is. So let’s jump into it.
Keegan 0:24
So Divi, other than being a uniquely strange, and probably very random name, is the name of a theme that WordPress or that works on WordPress, and was put out by Elegant Themes. Elegant Themes has put out a ton of themes over the years, but a handful years ago, they decided to take instead of building a lot of different specialized themes, they would put all their effort, all of their work into making what is in their eyes, the ultimate theme, and Divi came out, and it did change the game. But it wasn’t until a little bit later on when we get the Divi Builder that the game actually really changed. And over the years, I’ve watched the Divi Builder grow and become something that is really industry changing. It is a revolutionary tool in my opinion. And it’s the visual builder that has taken it to a completely new level.
Keegan 1:22
So Divi as I mentioned, it’s just a WordPress theme. It’s made by Elegant Themes and it’s it’s really just your skin it’s it’s what goes on top of WordPress to make it look different. And it gives you the Divi Theme itself has so much that is layered on top of WordPress, it expands on the features, it adds in what I think is the best in class Visual Builder. It gives you just amazing number of pre built layouts at the Divi team and the Divi designers are putting together and releasing two now every single week. So the value that you get from buying Divi is it’s really hard to match the community, the developers from Elegant Themes and just everything that surrounding the entire Divi. And general WordPress community is just next level in my mind.
Keegan 2:17
And so sticking with Divi, has been the key to really growing Keegan Lanier Media and being able to do some some very cool things and deliver websites that are built not just as a template, but built for you, for the client. And they make because the framework is so similar, it makes the ability to do training and educate people how to use the system just that much easier. So it brings a lot more value to the end user because we’re able to put a lot of systems and processes and training materials in place that just make you understand what you’re working in a million times more.
Keegan 3:00
Now, we love Divi for a ton of reasons. But the main reason is kind of what we alluded to in the last segment, and it’s all about the support that we can give to our clients. Because we work in a framework that has so much flexibility and allows for so much creation. So using that we have the same basic nuts and bolts and the same navigation to get around the system. Now, the end result may look different. But that allows us to say we can do training videos on how to load templates and where they’re going to be and all of these different settings we can become masters to really build that support structure for our clients. And it makes the onboarding process and the support behind each project so much stronger. So for that we love to interview has become really the fundamental part of how we do business.
Keegan 3:54
So let’s jump into why I really love Divi. We’ve talked about what it is what it does for personal business for the freelance business of Keegan linear media. But there is so much more to love about Divi, not only for the product that it is because it is a fantastic product. But there’s so much more. There’s a thriving community surrounding specifically this name. Like there’s a lot of communities within WordPress, but specifically around Divi. There’s tons and tons of Facebook groups where people are working on projects where people are given help and, you know, it’s just it’s really a great, really helpful, non judgmental community of people who just genuinely care about coding and about the theme and about helping people. So that’s one awesome reason that I love Divi.
Keegan 4:49
But the other part is Elegant Themes is so dedicated to this product. They’re constantly doing major updates to the theme, adding new features are pushing the envelope creatively and really giving you features that are, the best way to describe the visual builder is that it is very, it’s very Photoshop competitive, because you know, it took in previous design iterations or stages of the company. We’ve done wireframes. And we’ve done designs in Photoshop and different things, but it’s been completely streamlined. And that whole part of the wireframe, the design in Photoshop has completely been eliminated, I go straight into Divi, mode of the Visual Builder and just start building sections. And kind of conceptualizing what I want to do, adding in rows, and doing just basic placeholder designs with Lorem Ipsum tags, and just putting things in place to get a general feel. And then I can just send a potential client, or the current client to that site, they can look at and say, I love where your minds go, and our Dude, you’re way off base, let’s rethink this, let’s talk a little bit more.
Keegan 6:04
And it gives a living, breathing example to the client. It’s one thing to see it on paper, it’s something different to see the animations when you hover the parallax as you scroll, you can’t see that in a static image or in a in a concept photo. So having the Visual Builder, it has really changed the game, and changed the way that we operate. So I can’t say enough about the thriving community and the constant development Elegant Themes is doing on this on this product. It’s it’s just amazing. And the content creators and the YouTube videos and just everything that comes behind it, it’s top notch. And that really does sum up just what Divi is what it brings to the table and why I love it. And it’s going to set the tone for this entire show this entire series, it’s going to be centered around this product around updates around layout packs that we’re putting out, cool things that are coming out of our client work, and just what’s going on in Divi and surrounding Divi, because we are Divi addicts, we design our entire business model around Divi.
Keegan 7:15
So it’s really, really important to us. And it’s more so important for us to our clients because we can streamline our process, we can launch websites faster, which allows us to keep the costs of our website development lower. It allows us to do more sites, but it allows for such an increased level of support that’ll continue to grow. As Divi grows, we’re able to put out more information, lead our clients to white label training videos, we’re able to take layout packs from other developers from Divi themselves our Elegant Themes themselves. And we’re able to put things in place that are high quality design, it’s going to give people and their brand, a great place to call their home a great online hub for their brand. So it’s it’s one of those things that I really love. It’s one of those things that that we are so passionate about.
